Our impressive natural backdrops are already works of art in themselves. As is the culture that has been forged over the centuries that characterises the region and its people up until today. There are many museums to discover in Brunico and its surroundings that reveal interesting facts about the mountains and history.

Lumen Museum

Nature, top gastronomy and an impressive art experience meet high altitude: the LUMEN on top of Kronplatz, a museum where mountain photography from around the world comes together and historical shots and digital innovations are presented on four floors. The museum shows the impressive history of mountain photography in a location that could scarcely be more fitting.

Messner Mountain Museums

The exceptional MMM Corones on Kronplatz by the star architect Zaha Hadid is the most recent museum of the mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner. Situated right at the peak of Kronplatz, it provides not only a breathtaking view over the endless ensembles of the South Tyrolean mountain massifs but also interesting insights into original pieces of equipment of the exceptional alpinist.

Bruneck Castle

Bruneck Castle houses another Messner museum, MMM Ripa, where you can find out interesting facts about the mountain peoples of our world.

City Museum Brunico

At the foot of Schlossberg, situated between Kapuzinerplatz and the old town, there is an attraction worth seeing for all culture enthusiasts and art lovers: the Municipal Museum Brunico. Thanks to numerous changing exhibitions on local art, the municipal museum offers a varied programme.

Folklore Museum in Dietenheim

The South Tyrolean Folklore Museum allows its guests to go on a little journey through time. You can experience the delightful rural romance and simplicity in direct contrast to the pom of the nobility at the baroque residence Mair am Hof. Visit original farmhouses over the course of time or discover various collections of historical artefacts in the grand rooms of the residence.

Bruneck Kronplatz Card

With the Bruneck Kronplatz Card, you can use all means of transport in South Tyrol free of charge and also have the opportunity to take part in the activities of the Kronplatz weekly program. So: park your car and set off into the Dolomites region in a relaxed manner.
